Kyle Lohse's Goatee Never Lies, 5-1

A 2-7 record can be deceiving, especially to those big shots in St. Louis. They think that just because they won the World Series, last year, and Lohse was terrible for about four starts that he's not going to come into Busch and send the Cardinal faithful home unhappy. The author is pretty sure they now regret their overconfidence. Be careful tonight Mrs. Fredbird. Lohse shut down the offense for 8 and a third, he probably could have gone the whole way had he not locked eyes with a pretty little thing behind home plate in the 9th. That's all he needs, give up a couple of hits, and take it to the clubhouse. Can't keep the ladies waiting for Kyle Lohse. Kyle Lohse is big time.

Old AAA Eddie kept up the hot streak with a very nice night at the plate, 4-4 with 3 knocked in? Diving into first base, where'd that heart come from? Even without a chin-strap beard, that's pretty hot. As our new computerized friend "Accu-Score" predicted, Griffey took one out to get the party started and Dunn added one the other way, just to show that he can hit it there too. He's versatile. Tony LaRussa's comments to Harang have not been forgotten, he's lucky the trainers have had him on zombies for the last couple of days. The author saw Mark Mann with a tranquilizer gun, just in case he went into berserker mode. All teeth and elbows. "Accu-score" has predicted with 100% certainty that LaRussa is entering a world of hurt. Though all three should have belonged to the Reds, nice game tonight team. Reds! Reds! Reds!

About time we got off the mat - although when Griffey butchered that ball at the wall, and then Weathers came in with his gasoline can, I thought, "here we go again." But no worries - everything begins to turn tonight. HOMER! HOMER! HOMER!
